Personal injury · Family law · Brookhaven

When it matters, you want someonewho answers.

Hartwell & Pierce represents injured people and families in difficult transitions. You will speak to an attorney, not an intake script, usually the same day you call.

I · Practice areas

Two practices, one standard

We deliberately stay narrow. Handling only injury and family matters means our attorneys know the local judges, adjusters and opposing counsel, and the way each tends to negotiate.

Personal injury

After a crash, a fall or a workplace injury, you should be focused on getting well. We handle the insurers, the evidence and the medical paperwork.

  • Car & truck collisions
  • Slip and fall
  • Workplace injuries
  • Wrongful death
  • Dog bites
  • Medical bills & liens

Family law

Divorce, custody and support affect everything. We aim for clear, durable agreements first, and we are ready in court if the other side leaves us no choice.

  • Divorce & separation
  • Child custody
  • Support & modification
  • Property division
  • Prenuptial agreements
  • Adoption

II · Attorneys

The people on your side

Every client has an attorney, a paralegal and a direct line. If you call and your attorney is in court, you will hear back the same business day.

III · Our approach

From first call to resolution

You will always know what happens next. At each stage we tell you what we are doing, why, and how long it should take.

  1. Day 1

    A free conversation

We listen to what happened and what you need. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you to someone who is.

  2. Week 1

    Evidence and a plan

We gather records, photos and statements, and give you a written plan with a realistic timeline.

  3. Weeks 2 to 12

    Negotiation

Most matters settle. We prepare each one as if it will go to trial, which is how you get a fair result.

  4. If needed

    In the courtroom

When the other side will not move, we try the case, with you prepared and informed at every step.

V · Questions

Before you call

What does the free consultation include?

A confidential 30-minute conversation with an attorney about your situation, your options and what to do next. There is no obligation to hire us.

How do injury case fees work?

We take injury cases on a contingency basis: no fee unless we recover money for you. We explain the percentage and any case costs in writing before you sign.

How much will a divorce cost?

It depends on how much the two sides disagree. We offer flat-fee options for uncontested matters and will give you a realistic range at the consultation.

Should I talk to the insurance company?

Be polite, give basic facts, and do not give a recorded statement or sign anything before you speak with a lawyer. We can handle the communication for you.

Do you offer evening appointments?

Yes. We schedule evening and weekend meetings, and can meet by video or at your home if travel is difficult.

VI · Free consultation

Let’s talk about what comes next.

Tell us what you need help with. An attorney will call you back the same business day, and the first conversation is always free and confidential.
